This small jewelry box was hand fabricated from brass sheet using a bending and scoring technique and constructed using a Laserstar laser welder. The Laserstar assures that the metal will not warp, as it tends to do using traditional soldering methods. The bee was modeled in Rhino 5.0 and was adhered with the laser welder. I made a hinge from tubing, which I again used the laser to attach, and then riveted. The final step was pigmenting a liquid resin to the hot pink color and pouring over the piece. The resin simulates enamel and gives a pop of the collection's signature hot pink color.
