This collection is made of silver and gemstones and was inspired by the Shakespearean character, Ophelia. The pieces are all made of filigree, an ancient and labor-intensive technique that is seldom practiced in the United States. Ophelia's character has been depicted widely in art and is often shown in a natural setting, by the water or a willow tree, and almost always with flowers in her hair. The lacey nature of the filigree ties to Ophelia's character, and the gemstones remind the viewer of emotional depth (amethyst) and water/tears (aquamarine/pearls). The collection is comprised of three different hair pieces and one pair of earrings.
